Import from Planning Space Dataflow
To import data from Planning Space Dataflow, go to File > Import and select From PlanningSpace Dataflow. The Dataflow Import Wizard will be displayed.
Note: Before loading data, create the destination hierarchy in
The import process includes the following steps:
- On the first screen of the Import Wizard, read the instructions and click Next.
- On the Connect screen in the Connect To drop-down you will see a list of your previously-used Planning Space tenants. Select one of these, or select the Manage Connections option and enter a new Planning Space tenant URL and a 'friendly name' to refer to this connection. Click the Connect button.
- You will now see a login dialog Sign in to your account. If your Planning Space account has a Username and Password that are specific to Planning Space, type these into the dialog and click Sign in. If your account has a Windows UPN identifier (something like 'first.lastname@domain.mycompany.com') as the Username, type this in but leave the Password blank; you will see a second dialog generated by an ADFS Identity Provider server, in which you may be required to select one of several federated accounts, and you may be requested to enter your federated password (the details depend on how the Planning Space server is configured).
- If the connection is successful, you will see a green tick next to the Connect button (or if unsucessfful, a red exclamation mark '!'). Now click the Next button.
- On the Dataflow Batch Import screen, select documents to import, set up import batches and specify import settings (see The Dataflow Batch Import screen). Here you also need to create mapping templates (see Create a Dataflow mapping template).
- On the Destination Cash Consolidation Node screen, select the node where you want to import your data. Note that this window displays the hierarchy which is currently open in the Hierarchy Explorer.
- The Pre-Import Confirmation screen gives you a summary of the import options. The Logging Options button opens a window where you can specify whether the import log file should contain only errors, errors and warnings, or errors, warnings and import information; you can also choose to add the log file to the destination hierarchy as an attachment. To begin the import, click Next.
Note: if you check the Remember me box then your Username will be remembered for the next connection at the same Planning Space tenant.
Note: The destination hierarchy will be locked while the import is taking place so other users will not be able to import data into the same hierarchy.
- Once the import has completed, a confirmation message and the View Log button will be displayed. Check the log file if the import was completed with warnings or errors. To save the log file to your computer, click the Save to disk button. Click Finish to close the Wizard. To run the Loader again, click on the Return to Start button.
